Working Parties

As a self-managed community, it makes good sense for us to carry out general maintenance and tidy-up works around the site ourselves. We rely on all of you to participate in some way or another.

Working Parties are generally organised for Saturdays & Sundays to deal with general site upkeep.

Sessions last for around 3 hours, that said it’s not a competition; you do as much as you want to, everything is appreciated and those of us who participate all say that they really appreciate the opportunity to meet and chat to fellow-plot holders, whilst doing something worthwhile for the site as a whole.

The composition of the group changes from party to party – even if each of us can only participate once or twice a year, that’s enough to make a big difference. Many hands make light work!

Additionally, volunteers are needed for specific tasks, such as erecting the marquees at the plant sale, laying out the tables and organising and pricing the plants that have been kindly grown by our dedicated plot holders.

This year, there are a couple of interesting projects to come, including installing a new set of gates at the main entrance and sorting out the area designated as a Nature Reserve.
